Leon H. Woodin

ROCK FALLS – Leon H. Woodin, 84, of Rock Falls, died Thursday, Jan, 9, 2014, at his home. He worked at Northwestern Steel and Wire Co.

He was born Sept. 27, 1929, in Milledgeville, the son of Reynolds and Emma (Beggs) Woodin. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He married Viola Mae Farrington on Dec. 18, 1959, in Milledgeville. She preceded him in death on Dec. 13, 2005.

Survivors include a daughter, Elaine (Duane) Bennett of Rock Falls; a son, Les (Sheila) Farrington of Dixon; a sister, Nora Queckborner of Sterling; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He also was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Private family services will be at a later date. McDonald Funeral Home & Crematory in Rock Falls is handling arrangements.

A memorial has been established.
