Dickens relative part of program

PRINCETON — Patrick Hodge, Bureau County Genealogical Society’s treasurer, will speak Thursday at the society’s meeting, about the Rev. Bertram A. Dickens, a nephew of author Charles Dickens.

The group gather at 7 p.m. at the society library, 629 S. Main St.

After the business meeting, Hodge will give the program. Betram Dickens served for more than 40 years in northern Illinois as a Methodist Episcopal minister, with 14 of those years being in Bureau County. During the late 1800s into the 1900s, he served locally in North Prairie in Ohio Township, LaMoille, and Walnut.

The public is welcome; there is no charge.
