Lloyd R. Casey

WEST WHITELAND TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Lloyd Robert Casey, 72, of West Whiteland Township, died Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, at his home, after a battle with lung cancer.

Born Nov. 27, 1941, in Princeton, he was the first child of Lloyd and Verna Casey. He grew up in Sterling and graduated from Sterling High School, faithfully attending 5-year reunions. His lifetime loves were forestry and corny jokes. Retired after a career working for the state of Illinois, the Navy, and the U.S. Forest Service, he maintained a consulting business until shortly before his death. Lloyd volunteered his time serving and leading professional associations, his church, and teaching children and adults about the environment and conservation. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, camping, travelling, and social outings.

Lloyd is survived by two brothers, David and Daniel; one sister, Carolyn; two sons, Shawn (Christina) and Chad (Chelsea); a stepson, Brian (Tenile); 10 grandchildren; a former wife, Diane; and his companion, Sally.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Linda.

Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service to celebrate his life at 11 a.m., Saturday at Exton Community Baptist Church on Swedesford Road in Exton, Pa. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pennsylvania Forestry Association or the American Cancer Society, or plant a tree.
