WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – Nita McBride Wade, 70, of Winter Haven, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, at Winter Haven Hospital, due to pneumonia.

She was born Oct. 23, 1943, in Sterling. She moved to the Winter Haven area 12 years ago from Pompano Beach, Fla. She was a  homemaker for most of her life, but also worked as a bookkeeper and bank teller. She was a member of the Winter Haven Church of the Nazarene.

Nita is survived by two daughters, Trisha Spear of Pompano Beach and Meghan Simons of Venice, Fla.; a son, Matthew Wade of Brentwood, Tenn.; her mother, Bethel Morley McBride of Sterling; three brothers, Gary McBride of Fort Myers, Fla., Michael McBride of McKinney, Texas, and Morris McBride of Cape Coral, Fla.; and nine grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Burdette McBride.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Winter Haven Church of the Nazarene. Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Winter Haven Church of the Nazarene.
