Illinois temperatures below normal in December

CHAMPAIGN (AP) — State climate experts say Illinois temperatures were below-average this past December.

The Illinois State Water Survey at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign also says Illinois had above-average snowfall during December. The average temperature statewide was 25.5 degrees, 4.4 degrees below average.

Snowfall totals were between 10 and 15 inches in northern and southern Illinois.
