Illinois Secretary of State closes offices Monday

SPRINGFIELD (AP) — The Secretary of State's office is closing all 138 of its offices around Illinois.

Dave Druker is a spokesman for the agency that operates all drivers' license offices in Illinois.

He says officials decided to shut the locations on Monday because of bad road conditions in central and southern Illinois along with the dangerous cold in northern Illinois.

Many of those offices would be closed anyway, because many license branches only operate Tuesday through Saturday.

Offices are set to reopen on Tuesday.
