Danny K. Leisner

STERLING – Danny K. Leisner, 62, of Sterling, died Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at his home.

Danny was born Feb. 11, 1951, in Sterling, the son of Walter and Dorothy (McCardle) Leisner. He served in the Marine Corps from 1969 to 1971. He married Christine Cassatt on July 12, 1975, in Sterling. Danny was employed by Ster-Lynn Apartments as a maintenance man. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, traveling, and spending time with his granddaughters.

Survivors include his wife of Sterling; one daughter, Sara (Ron Pazera) Leisner of Dixon; two brothers, Frank (Barb) Leisner of Florida and Esco Leisner of Rock Falls; and two granddaughters, Ava Pazera and Ellie Pazera.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Howard Leisner; and his half-sister, Joan Burger.

A celebration of life will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Sterling American Legion. Private family graveside service with military honors will be at Calvary Cemetery in Sterling, with the Rev. Bernard Sehr of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Dixon officiating.

A memorial has been established to Hospice of the Rock River Valley.
