AMBOY – Elaine D. Hafferty Gabelmann, 55, of Amboy, peacefully entered her eternal home Dec. 30, 2013.

She was born Oct. 5, 1958, in Sacramento, Calif., the daughter of Larry D. and Ann M. (Sudo) Shanks Sr. Elaine was kindhearted, loved Jesus, and never missed an opportunity for an adventure.

She is survived by her adoring husband of 7 years, Gordon Gabelmann; three children, Steven (Donna) Hafferty Jr., Tammy Bello, and Melissa (Nathan) Moore; five grandchildren, Ana, Miguel, Brittney, Ashlyn, and Logan; one brother, Larry Shanks Jr.; and one sister, Victoria (Timothy) Cooper.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy. Visitation also will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday and the funeral at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mike Worrell, pastor of Lincoln Avenue Church of God in Dixon, officiating. Burial will be at Woodside Cemetery in Lee Center.

A memorial has been established.
