MORRISON – Dorothy P. Knox-Shaw, 91, of Resthave Home in Morrison, died Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013, at the nursing home. She was employed by various Morrison businesses for several years.
She was born Jan. 13, 1922, in Lyndon, the daughter of Orley F. and Pearl E. (Given) Keller. She married Cecil Knox on Jan. 25, 1941, in Prophetstown. She later married Kenneth E. Shaw on Aug. 27, 1977. He preceded her in death on Jan. 19, 2013. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Morrison.
Survivors include three daughters, Gail (Alvin) Smith, Peggy Ottens, and Kris (Arlyn) Deets, all of Morrison; three stepdaughters, Vickey (Jerry) Stuckey of Davenport, Iowa, Ruth (Joseph) Brunner of Fairfield, Ohio, and Mary (James) Nurre of Montgomery, Ohio; nine grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Brearton; two grandchildren in infancy; one stepgranddaughter; four sisters, Marjorie Hinton, Myrna Spade, Lola Cashion, and Idella Upton; and two brothers, Samuel C. Keller and Dean Keller.
There will be no visitation. A private family memorial service will be held. Cremation rites will be accorded. Interment will be at a later date at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison. Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home in Morrison is handling arrangements.
Memorials have been established to First Presbyterian Church in Morrison and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
