FLOSSMOOR (AP) – A suburban Chicago teenager is being held on $2 million bond after authorities say he killed his older brother.
The Chicago Sun-Times reports 15-year-old Michael Tigue is charged with first-degree murder for Friday’s stabbing death of 25-year-old Steven Tigue. He’s charged as an adult.
During a bond hearing Sunday, Cook County Assistant State’s Attorney Shawn Abraham says the Flossmoor teenager admitted planning the attack. Tigue said he’d been bullied by the man, who was pronounced dead at South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest early Friday.
Flossmoor is about 20 miles south of Chicago.
Officials say Steven Tigue’s death marked the first homicide in the community in more than three decades.
It wasn’t clear if Michael Tigue has a lawyer.
