Police: 15-year-old killed in shooting

GALESBURG (AP) – Galesburg police say they’ve issued arrest warrants for two men in connection with the fatal shooting of a 15-year-old boy.

The Galesburg Register-Mail reports that police are seeking two 18-year-old men – one on first-degree murder and firearms charges and the other for possession of a firearm by a felon.

Police say officers responding to a 911 call around 8:50 p.m. Sunday found Javon Butler in the backyard of a home. The Knox County Coroner pronounced him dead at the scene.

Anyone with information is asked to call police or Galesburg Crime Stoppers.
