STERLING – Marvin Scott McGlown, 40, of Sterling, formerly of Dixon, died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.

He was born Aug. 20, 1973, in Dixon, the son of William and Ruth Ann (Rote) McGlown. He attended Dixon High School. He was a former member of First Christian Church of Oregon. Scott worked as an auto mechanic in the area for many years, and had started schooling for the heating and cooling trade before his illness. He belonged to Dreams to Reality Car Club.

He is survived by his mother, Ruth Ann (George) Bowers of Oregon; brothers, Troy (Kristie) McGlown of Amboy and William McGlown of Dixon; sister, Tanya McGlown of Rock Falls; children, Emanuel, Kamerin, and Taniesha McGlown, all of Sterling; the mother of his children, Bambi Wilson of Sterling; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home in Oregon. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Pastor David and Pastor Debbie Hines officiating. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon.
