Eileen M. Moroney

FITCHBURG, Wis. – Eileen M. Moroney, 66, of Fitchburg, formerly of Sterling, died Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013, at Agrace Hospice in Madison, Wis. She taught at Sterling-Rock Falls Daycare for 15 years.

Eileen was born Feb. 17, 1947, in Atlanta, the daughter of Jack and Eleanor (Faunce) Wrenn. Eileen married Harold “Hal” Moroney on Sept. 19, 1970, in Des Plaines. They later divorced. She was a former member of Abiding Word Church in Sterling.

Survivors include one daughter, Erin (Jason) Domonousky of Taylorville; two sons, Todd (Susie) Moroney of Fitchburg, and Andrew Moroney of Seattle; one sister, Donna Wrenn of Madison, Wis.; one brother, Michael Wrenn of Belvedere; and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.

A private memorial service will be Thursday at McDonald Funeral Home in Sterling. An open memorial gathering of all family and friends will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Rock Falls Veterans of Foreign Wars, 217 First Ave.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Sterling-Rock Falls Daycare. 1840 W. LeFevre Road, Sterling, IL 61081. Donations can also be made to Agrace HospiceCare, 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Madison, WI 53711.
