DIXON – Delores J. Bowers, 80, of Dixon, died Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, at Serenity Hospice & Home in Oregon. She worked for Ames Furniture Co. for 37 years before retiring.

Delores was born June 5, 1933, in Dixon, the daughter of LaVerne and Irene (Walker) Kibble. She married Wayne Bowers on Dec. 30, 1951, in Dixon. She was a member of Bethel Evangelical Congregational Church in Dixon.  

Survivors include her husband, and one son, David (Derri) Bowers, both of Dixon; three granddaughters, Corrie (Kent) Miller, Marcie (Mark) Slagter, and Erin (Peter) Madson; and nine great-grandchildren, Austin, Sadie, Josiah, Claire, Camryn, Levi, Violet, Isaac, and Gabe.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Richard Kibble; and one sister, Dorothy Strub.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday and the funeral at 11 a.m. Thursday at Bethel Evangelical Congregational Church in Dixon, with the Rev. Randy Sizemore, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon. Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon is handling arrangements.

Memorials have been established to Bethel Evangelical Congregational Churchand Rock River Bible Camp, both in Dixon, and Serenity Hospice & Home.
