Paul F. Sharp

MENDOTA – Paul Frederick Sharp, 96, of Mendota, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, at Mendota Community Hospital.

Paul was born Sept. 15, 1917, in Rock Falls, to Elmer E. Sharp and Louise M. (Ruschke) Sharp. He married Betty Alice Feith on Feb. 28, 1998, in Sterling. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Mendota. He graduated from Scoville Business School in Sterling. He was employed by Frantz Door Co. in Sterling from 1939 to 1982 as a secretary. He also spent time as a golf caddie.

He is survived by his wife of Mendota; two stepsons, Carl (Connie) Feith of Watertown, Tenn., and Martin Steven (Sharon) Feith of Peoria; one stepdaughter, Patricia Jorgenson of Germany; and two stepgranddaughters, Valerie and Heather.

He was preceded by his parents; one brother, Elwin; and one sister, Dorothy Reiter.  

Visitation will be from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday and the funeral at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John Lutheran Te Deum Chapel in Mendota, with the Rev. Dale Peterson officiating. Burial will be at Lutheran Cemetery in Mendota. Merritt Funeral Home in Mendota is handling arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to The Salvation Army or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
