OREGON – An Ogle County jury has found a Rockford man guilty of selling heroin.

Jay Moore, 39, was arrested in December 2012 and charged with delivery of heroin within 1,000 feet of a park and resisting a peace officer. His sentencing hearing is set for Feb. 5.

Moore was arrested along with two other Rockford men, Shasta C. Alonzo, 41, and Tyler M. Smith, 25, who together sold 24 bags of heroin to an informant, authorities said.

Alonzo was sentenced to 6 years in prison in March as part of a plea deal.

Smith’s next court appearance is scheduled for April 14.
