SPRINGFIELD (AP) — A state prison official who has been arrested as many as two dozen times has been suspended from his $111,000-a-year job.
The Chicago Sun-Times reports Wednesday (http://tinyurl.com/mvgguv2 ) that Xadrian (eks-ZAY-dree-an) McCraven was placed on paid leave Monday.
Department of Corrections spokesman Tom Shaer says he can't comment on the reason the adviser to the parole chief was put on leave.
The Sun-Times reported last week that the 44-year-old Chicago man pleaded guilty to a weapons charge in 1989 and was found guilty of reckless conduct in a 1998 domestic-battery case.
Federal court records show he has been arrested on suspicion of arson, gun and drug possession and aggravated assault.
McCraven does not have a listed telephone number and could not be contacted.
Another state agency previously suspended him for misconduct.
