Dressed as Santa Claus, John Watts and Rock Falls High School student Thomas Wei greet Vern Workman on Thursday evening at CGH Medical Center. The two and other members of the Rock Falls Optimist and Junior Optimist clubs greeted patients at the hospital and delivered blue spruce trees. The group was looking to spread some good cheer to those who are hospitalized during the holidays.

Piper licks at John Watts' Santa Claus in Carl Grams' hospital room at CGH Medical Center in Sterling. Grams had all kinds of visitors Thursday evening, as Watts' Rock Falls Optimist Club greeted patients and delivered blue spruce trees. Piper was making the rounds with the Love on a Leash program.
