Warriors pin way past Pirates

The Sterling Golden Warriors improved to 8-3 on the season with a NIB-12 West road win Thursday, defeating Ottawa 43-27 thanks to four pins and two forfeits.

Isaac Anderson (132 pounds), Nick Terronez (152), Tanner Massey (170) and Dale Mikan (195) all recorded pins for the Warriors, with two coming in the second period and the other two early in the third.

Jaden Urrutia won a 9-1 major decision at 113, and heavyweight Cariel Beasley won 1-0 for Sterling.

Geneseo 68, Dixon 4: Kylian Lally's major decision at 145 pounds was the lone victory for the Dukes in a NIB-12 West dual at The Pit.

Dixon gave up three forfeits, and suffered six pins in the other 10 contested matches.

E-P sweeps at home: The Panthers beat Polo-Forreston 45-27 and Riverdale 48-24 in a pair of duals in Erie.

Josh Wheeler (138 pounds), Jared Cole (145) and Dylan Binion (152) each recorded two pins for Erie-Prophetstown. Damien Schacherbauer (120), Grady Todd (132) and Nick Williams (170) added pin wins against Polo-Forreston, while Josh Bowling (126) and Jace Bright (195) picked up pins against Riverdale.

Juan Dominguez won by pin at 285 pounds for Polo-Forreston, which did not wrestle Riverdale. Jesse Ditzler (126), Ethan Cain (160) and Jacob Cain (195) all won decisions.

Boys bowling

Winnebago 3,469, Oregon 3,381:
The Hawks dropped their third straight NIBC dual, falling to the visiting Indians at Town & Country Lanes in Mount Morris.

AJ Nordman led Oregon (7-3, 2-3) with a 635 series, including games of 228 and 237.


Girls bowling

Oregon 2,717, Winnebago 2,164:
The Hawks rolled to yet another lopsided victory at Town & Country Lanes in Mount Morris.

Karissa Corbin bowled a 538 series for Oregon (5-1, 3-1 NIBC), and Alyson Scheidecker added a 537 series.
