Bonnie M. Anspach

ROCK FALLS – Bonnie Maxine “Max” Anspach, 83, of Rock Falls, died Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.

Max was born Aug. 22, 1930, in Elgin, the daughter of Alfred and Silvia (Currant) Wickland. She married Robert Anspach on Nov. 28, 1953, in Sterling. Max was employed with Illinois Bell for 28 years, retiring in 1979. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Sterling, where she served as secretary, librarian, and children’s ministry director. Max enjoyed floral design and painting, and was an avid reader.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Anspach; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Russell and Al Wickland; and four sisters, Donna Calvin, LaReta Christensen, Colleen Hussong and Gerry Hodge.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling, with the Rev. Bob Hasselbring officiating. 

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to First Church of the Nazarene.
