Vote Simonton for Lee sheriff

Published: Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013 1:15 a.m. CDT

I have never been interested in politics or campaigns until now – not because I didn’t think it was important, but because I never felt such a strong need for change.

However, I recently joined the John Simonton for Sheriff campaign and have seen what great things he will be able to accomplish when elected. I, along with about 30 other volunteers, collected signatures to get John Simonton’s name on the March 18 primary ballot.

It was such a positive experience for me, as nearly 600 signatures were collected from registered voters who happily signed the Simonton for Sheriff petition, and all we needed was 66 signatures. As I circulated the Simonton petitions, I found that people are tired of the way government functions, and many people are ready for change.

John Simonton certainly offers a fresh perspective on how to run the Lee County Sheriff’s office, with more than 30 years of law enforcement experience and a commitment to this community.

Election Day is on March 18, and I want to encourage everyone to vote for John Simonton for Lee County sheriff. Go to www.citizensforsimonton.com to learn more.
