Sterling snow rules in effect

Published: Friday, Dec. 13, 2013 1:15 a.m. CDT

STERLING – Sterling’s snow parking ordinance is in effect for city streets.

Vehicles should be parked on the odd-numbered side of the street on odd-numbered days and on the even side on even-numbered days. Violators will be ticketed and their vehicles may be towed at the owner’s expense. Tickets will not be issued between 6 and 8 a.m.

The ordinance takes effect when 2 inches of snow has accumulated and remains in effect for 36 to 48 hours or until the snow stops and the full width of the street has been plowed.

Residents also are asked to keep sidewalks in front of their home clear of snow.

For more information, call the Code Enforcement Department at 815-632-6624 between 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
