Fatal fire investigation nears end
Report expected within a few days
DIXON – The state fire marshal’s office reported Thursday that it was close to finishing its investigation into a Nov. 1 fire that left a Dixon woman dead.
Milly Santiago, a marshal’s office spokeswoman, said in an email that the cause remains unknown for a fire that destroyed the home at 1787 Clearview Road.
“A report will be completed during the next few days,” she said.
The body of 58-year-old Louise Lopez-Landherr was found a few hours after fire destroyed her house. Her husband, John Landherr, was not home when the blaze broke out.
At the time of the fire, Dixon Rural Fire Chief Norris Tucker Jr. said that nothing at the scene appeared suspicious and that conducting an investigation into the fire’s cause was “all just standard procedure.”
