Newman loses twice on road; Raiders 1-2 in four-team meet

Panthers split in Erie

The Erie-Prophetstown Panthers beat the Oregon Hawks 43-24 and fell to Lena-Winslow/Stockton 38-28 in a triangular at Erie on Tuesday.

The Hawks also lost to Le-Win/Stockton, 68-9.

Jared Cole (145 pounds) and Noah Eads (195) won two contested matches for Erie-Prophetstown. Jace Bright (220) added a pin against Oregon, while Josh Bowling (120), Josh Wheeler (138) and Dylan Binion (152) won by pin against Le-Win/Stockton.

For Oregon, Skylar Carlson (126) and Michael Stevens (285) won by pin against E-P, and Jake Diehl (182) recorded a pin against Le-Win/Stockton.

Newman drops two in Orion: The Comets lost to Rockridge 48-32 despite winning five of the seven contested matches, then lost 44-30 to host Orion.

Brandon Ahlgrim won two pins for Newman at 152 pounds. Elias Edmondson (138), Brady Rude (160) and Bryce Ivey (170) won by pin against Rockridge, and Hunter Webb (113) added a pin against Orion.

AFC goes 1-2: The Raiders beat Alden-Hebron 30-9, and lost to Durand 48-30 and Auburn 30-24 in a four-team meet.

Jake Chapman (152 pounds) and Juan Urena (170) won by pin against Durand. Payton Hilliker (138), Riley Stephens (145) and Cooper Stahl (285) recorded pins against Auburn.

AFC received five forfeits in the victory over Alden-Hebron.

Boys bowling

Lutheran 3,639, Oregon 3,316: The Hawks dropped an NIBC match at Town & Country Lanes in Mount Morris, losing all three games to the Crusaders.

AJ Nordman rolled a 659 series, including a 278 final game, to lead Oregon (7-2, 2-2). Kyle Lundquist added a 608 series, with a 241 high game.

Alek Zajchowski paced Lutheran with a 722 series, which included games of 269 and 245.

Girls bowling

Dixon 3,033, Morris 2,992: The Duchesses took two of three games in a NIB-12 dual at Plum Hollow.

Emily Quaco bowled a 563 series and a 207 high game for Dixon, while Ashley Currier added a 553 series with a 210 high game.

Imelda Garcia led Morris with a 545 series.

Oregon 2,755, Lutheran 2,565: The Hawks swept all three games and the overall pinfall from the Crusaders in Mount Morris.

Abigail Scheidecker led Oregon (4-1, 2-1 NIBC) with a 577 series, including a 230 final game. Dakota Hazelwood's 583 series paced Lutheran.
