MORRISON – A Morrison man died Tuesday after being involved in a head-on crash on U.S. Route 30 near Hillside Road.

Authorities say that Jesse R. Jones, 22, was heading east on Route 30 about 3:50 p.m. when his car crossed the center line and slammed head-on into a pickup truck traveling west.

After being removed from his car by members of the Morrison Fire Department, Jones was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the truck, Dustin J. Funderberg, 31, of Morrison, and his two passengers, Lani L. Funderberg, 66, and Mary M. Funderberg, 33, both of Morrison, were taken to an area hospital. Their conditions were unknown.

After the accident, Route 30 was closed, backing up traffic for about 2 miles at one point.
