PROPHETSTOWN – Tony M. Lanphere, 33, of Prophetstown, died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013, at his home.

Tony was born Feb. 9, 1980, in Morrison, the son of Brian and Marjorie (Rick) Lanphere. He was a 1998 graduate of Prophetstown High School. Tony was employed by P & P Industries in Sterling for 12 years. He was an avid fisherman and Chicago Bears fan. He enjoyed spending time at the trailer on the river and mushroom hunting with his father. Most of all, he loved his son, his family, and his friends.

Survivors include his son, Aiden Lanphere of Prophetstown; his parents of Prophetstown; one sister, Jessica (Ron) Moffitt of Lyndon; his paternal grandmother, Marilyn Lanphere of Prophetstown; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Richard Lanphere; his maternal grandparents, Duane Rick, Thelma Rick, and Wilma Rick; and one uncle, Larry Rick.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday and a memorial service at 6 p.m. Thursday at McDonald Funeral Home in Prophetstown, with the Rev. Dalmus Meeks of Harvest Time Bible Church in Rock Falls officiating.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for Tony’s son.
