Crop program planned in January

URBANA – Registration is being accepted now for the 2014 University of Illinois Corn and Soybean Classics.

Regionally, the program will be from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Jan. 13 at Peoria Par-A Dice Hotel , 21 Blackjack Blvd. East Peoria and Jan. 15 at Kishwaukee College, 21193 Malta Road, Malta.

Sessions will feature nine presentations emphasizing crop production, pest management, economics, and the interactions among them. Market updates will be provided throughout the day. Communication between speakers and participants will be encouraged. Question and answer sessions are scheduled for the sessions.

The speakers are Jim Angel on weather; Emerson Nafziger, soybean yields; Randy Nelson and Brian Diers, soybean diseases; Aaron Hager, marestail; Adam Davis, palmer amaranth; Ken Olson, conservation tillage systems; Carl Bradley, fungicides; Gary Schnitkey, machinery and farm size; and Mike Gray, insect survey results.
