ROCK FALLS – Pamela A. Grooms, 58, of Rock Falls, died Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, at her home. Pam worked at CGH Medical Center in Sterling as a patient transporter for more than 20 years.

Born Aug. 25, 1955, in Sterling, she was a daughter of Billy Ray and Mary (Hollowell) Gaither. She was united in marriage to Rory Grooms on Sept. 8, 1984, in Sterling. Pam enjoyed her animals, especially dogs and horses, and driving her Ford Mustang. She loved spending time with her family and friends and being outdoors.

Survivors include her husband, Rory, of Rock Falls; a son, Eric Galvan, not of the area; sisters, Sheryl (Nelson) Preston of Lanark, Kelly Johnson of Rock Falls, and Terri (Randy) Lorenz of Blue Grass, Iowa; brothers, Larry (Margo) Gaither of Texas and Mike (Tammy) Gaither of Sterling; and her stepmother, Elsie Gaither of Sterling.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Mary Gaither.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. There will be no funeral.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
