STERLING – Regional public transportation will be the topic of a summit Dec. 9 hosted by the Bi-State Regional Comission.

The summit, from 4 to 5 p.m. in the kitchen at Whiteside County Senior Center, 1207 W. Ninth St., is geared toward residents of Whiteside and Henry counties involved with human and social service agencies and with an interest in public transportation.

The purpose of the summit is to help identify current travel choices and their effects on the region’s transportation services. The results will be published in the commission’s Transportation Development Plan and will allow planners to better understand how people in the region travel, and why.
