Paul Ward Bauer

PROPHETSTOWN – Paul Ward Bauer, 97, of Prophetstown, died Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Prophetstown. He was employed by Eastern Airlines in computer control and flight dispatching for more than 30 years, retiring in 1975.

Paul was born Aug. 30, 1916, in Harmon to John N. and Lucy M. (Peters) Bauer. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II as a meteorologist stationed in India.

Survivors include one sister, Frances (Alvin) Johnson of Sterling; one brother, John Bauer of Davenport, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Mildred Knelson; and two brothers, Harold and Phillip Bauer.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be at a later date. Schilling Funeral Home in Sterling is handling arrangements.
