Frank F. Densmore

SUN CITY, Ariz. – Frank F. Densmore, 87, of Sun City, Ariz., died Friday, Nov. 22, 2013, at Hospice of the Valley in Sun City.

Frank was born May 2, 1926, in Dentaybow, Minn., the son of Lee and Leone Densmore. He was a proud veteran of World War II, having served with the Marine Corps in the Battle of Iwo Jima. He married Fay Culbertson in 1945.

Frank graduated from Iowa State University and became a partner in the Dixon Veterinary Clinic. He lived and practiced veterinary medicine in Dixon from 1951 to 1991, when he and Fay retired to Sun City. While in Dixon, Frank was a member of the Dixon School Board, and an active member of the Dixon Noon Lions Club, having served as president and district governor.

Survivors include his wife, Fay; children, Tom (Loretta) Densmore of Sterling, Sue Peterson of Glendale, Ariz., Bill (Kathy) Densmore of Hoffman Estates, and Amy (Jeff) Finn of Elizabeth; grandchildren, Darci Francis, Doug Densmore, Danielle Fink, Sam Peterson, Kristina Densmore, Allison Densmore, Emily Densmore, Ethan Densmore, Taylor Finn, Kelsey Finn and Riley Finn; and great-grandchildren, Jenica Francis, Brinley Francis, Wyatt Fink and Morgan Densmore.

There will be a private family service Sunday in Sterling.

Memorials have been established to Dixon Noon Lions Club and Hospice of the Valley.
