Letters to the Editor

Keep writing, anti-abortion advocates

Almost everyone supports animal rights. That’s a good thing. Michael Vick went to prison for dog fighting. Many others have been convicted for cruelty to animals.

When a pregnant woman is murdered, the murderer is prosecuted for two murders, not one. Hmm?

A lady who spoke out in favor of abortion rights 4 years ago recently apologized to family and friends for speaking out on the subject again. If people speak out because they firmly believe in something, they don’t need to apologize for it.

She said in her remarks that she is convinced that no one is really pro-abortion. Since Roe vs. Wade, more than 3,000 [fetuses] have been aborted every day, for 40 years. Hitler was guilty of crimes against humanity. This is nothing less.

A 9-month pregnancy produces a cuddly, adorable baby that is treasured by his or her parents, yet at 6 months [after conception], it is considered a non-entity? We can just discard it at will? Wake up, America.

A woman certainly has rights concerning her own body, but certainly the unborn child has the right to life. Anti-abortion advocates will forever speak out for the 50 million silenced voices of the innocents, until this unjust law is overthrown.

Three cheers for Sauk Valley Media for giving us the platform to speak out.
