Police say Rock Falls man fired shots into apartment

STERLING – A Rock Falls man was in jail Sunday after, police say, he fired shots into an apartment early Saturday morning in Sterling.

Zachary A. Wade, 24, is charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm, possession of a firearm with no FOID card, and unlawful use of weapons — all felonies.

According to a news release from the Sterling Police Department, police received a call around 1:30 a.m. Saturday about two shots being fired into an apartment in the 2000 block of Third Avenue. There were no injuries.

Wade was arrested a few blocks from the apartment, according to the release.

He was in Whiteside County jail on $100,000 bond. His is next scheduled to be in court Thursday..
