Thanks for supporting statue project
On behalf of the Tampico Area Historical Society, we send our sincere thanks to everyone who helped us accomplish the goal of placing a statue of Ronald Reagan as a young boy in Reagan Park.
The Nov. 3 memorial service was a great tribute to the only president born in Illinois.
We thank everyone who donated money to the statue fund and those who purchased engraved pavers and bricks for the walkway.
Special thanks to Bob Cassens and Arthur Johnson Oil for helping us reach the final goal. Also, thanks to Ted McElhiney, the artist who did the sculpture, Hot Scotsman Foundry for the bronzing and installation of the statue, Moore Monument for the engraving, Skoog Landscaping for the walkway, SBM for the invitations, Halo Branded Solutions for pens, New Millenium Directories for the programs, Danny Woodhurst for the sound, Jerry Mitchell for his services as master of ceremonies, Dr. J. David Arnold for his insightful remarks, Cathy Hinrichs for her beautiful music, Pastor Paul Laird and the Rev. Msgr. Dzialek for their blessings, Tampico American Legion Post 574 and Boy Scout Troop 94 for their patriotism, Sauk Valley Media for its many articles and pictures concerning the project over the past 6 years, and the village of Tampico for its role in this endeavor.
There have been many others who worked diligently behind the scenes for whom we are grateful, and we ask for their forgiveness for not mentioning them individually.
