SHANNON – A 52-year-old Shannon man died Tuesday after being involved in an ATV accident at his home, according to a news release from the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department.

Authorities identified the victim as Michael R. Zuck, a Sterling native who had been a carpenter in the construction industry for more than 25 years.

Police reported that just before 2 p.m. Tuesday, Carroll County sheriff’s deputies responded to a call about an ATV accident at Zuck’s home in the 14400 block of Maple Grove Road in rural Shannon.

According to the release, Zuck was taken to FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport, where he was later pronounced dead.

No details of the accident were provided in the news release. Carroll County Sheriff Jeff Doran was unavailable for comment.
