Police look for suspects in counterfeiting incident
DIXON – The Dixon Police Department is investigating a reported use of counterfeit money to buy items at the Dixon Walmart.
In early October, officers received a complaint from Walmart's loss prevention division about items bought at the Dixon store with 14 counterfeit $20 bills.
The suspect, caught on the store's video surveillance system, was a black woman in her late 20s or early 30s, of medium build, with white highlights in her hair. Accompanying the female suspect in the video was a black man who appeared to be older. He was wearing a baseball cap, maroon T-shirt, and dark shorts.
According to the complaint, both suspects tried to buy items at the same time, but his transaction was not completed. The suspects then left the store and entered a dark minivan of an unknown make and model.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Dixon Police Department at 815-288-4411 or Crime Stoppers at 1-888-228-4488. Callers can remain anonymous and receive rewards of up to $1,000 if the information helps lead to an arrest.
