DEKALB (AP) — Northern Illinois University's new president is set to be officially inaugurated during a ceremony at the DeKalb school.

Douglas Baker is scheduled to give his inaugural address Wednesday afternoon. School officials say he'll talk about his vision for NIU. Afterward the school will celebrate Baker's inauguration.

Baker took over for former NIU President John Peters this summer. Peters had been president for more than a decade.

Baker is a former provost and executive vice president at the University of Idaho.
