DIXON – Sandra Lee Foster, 70, of Dixon, was called home Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013, on her 70th birthday.

Sandra was born Nov. 5, 1943, in Dixon to Merton and Marlys (Gordon) Carpenter. In 1961, she married Kenneth Walker. He preceded her in death in 1965. Sandra had worked for an extensive period of time at Admiral Co. in Dixon, where she had met her second husband, Edward Foster. They were married in December 1971. He preceded her in death on Jan. 5, 1986. Sandra worked for 23 years at Dixon schools as a lunch room supervisor, where she greatly enjoyed working with children.

Sandra was considered the caretaker of all family pets. She enjoyed holiday planning, country music, and shopping. Her daily visits with the greeters at the Sterling Walmart held a special place in her heart. Sandra loved day trips with her family, and most recently, her vacation to the Appalachian Mountains. Most of all, she cherished the times spent with her grandchildren, such as watching her granddaughter Taylor dance, grandson Luke fly airplanes with Civil Air Patrol, and her grandson Jesse play guitar.

Survivors include one daughter, Tracy (Alan Arians) Novak-Ademoski of Sterling; one sister Suzette (Murell) Bufford of Mesa, Ariz.; and three grandchildren, Taylor (Joshua Adams) Novak, Luke Ademoski and Jesse Arians.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her two husbands.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Myles Kukowski officiating. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon.
