Charles W. Adams

WALNUT – Charles W. Adams, 86, of Tampico, died Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, at Walnut Manor Nursing Home. He was a lifelong Tampico-area farmer.

Charles was born Feb. 15, 1927, in Tampico, the son of Robert and Vera (Foley) Adams. He was a member of the Air Force, serving as a weatherman in Alaska. He married Ida Mary Chriest on Sept. 4, 1948, in Tampico.

He is survived by his wife; three sons, Charles Jr. of Davenport, Iowa, and Paul (Nona) Adams and Jeff (Kathy) Adams, both of Tampico; two daughters, Joyce Spencer of Walnut and Patricia (Keith) Buerklin of Robinson; eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Eldon, Bernard, James, and Herbert; and three sisters, Veronica, Mary, and Dorothy.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, and the Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Tampico, with Monsignor Thomas Dzielak, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Tampico. Garland Funeral Home in Tampico is handling arrangements.

A memorial has been established.
