A half dozen of Whiteside County’s 127 registered sex offenders are out of compliance with the state’s registration law.

County law enforcement agencies announced this week that they conducted their annual sweep to verify the addresses of the county’s registered sex offenders. The six were not living where they said they were or have failed to maintain accurate registration records, according to police.

A news release Friday said the state’s attorney’s office was notified and warrants would be issued for the arrests of those six.

In Lee County, Sheriff John Varga said address compliance checks are conducted periodically and can happen anywhere between once a week to once every few weeks. The last time officers did a sweep like the one conducted in Whiteside County was a couple of years ago, he said.

Lee County currently has 69 registered sex offenders, with only one in noncompliance, the sheriff said.

Where are they?

Police ask that people call a local police agency or Crime Stoppers at 815-625-7867 if they know the whereabouts of these six:

David L. Boyd, 28, Lyndon

Troy A. Eichstadt, 32, Sterling

Eric W. Findley, 35, Morrison

Cleo D. Geiger, 37, Sterling

Bronson D. Hughes, 31, Rock Falls

William R. Pitzer, 34, Rock Falls
