FRANKLIN GROVE – Residents are asked to fly American flags Thursday to mark the centennial of the Lincoln Highway’s dedication.

Towns along the transcontinental highway marked the day 100 years ago with bonfires, flags, and red, white, and blue bunting. Governors in several states also issued proclamations. Visit illinoislincolnhighwayassociation.org or call the association’s tourism headquarters at 815-456-3030 for more information.
