Piano, guitars lessons at available at SVCC

DIXON – Sauk Valley Community College will offer two musical classes available at the college, 173 state Route 2.

An instant piano class will be from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Nov. 13 in Room 2K2. The instructor will be Craig Coffman.

In this one evening course, students can learn the chords needed to play any song, any style, and any key.

Those who do not know how to read notes may send for a free pamphlet with a self-addressed, stamped envelope to Music Masters, 90 Molly Lane, Ringgold, GA 30736.

The cost is $30 for the course, plus $25 to be collected by the instructor in class for the book and a CD.

The college also will offer a one-time guitar class from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Nov. 15 in Room 2L6. Coffman also will instruct this course.

In this class, students will learn basic chords to get started playing along with songs. Those attending should bring an acoustic guitar.

The class is limited to 15 students, 13 and older. Go to  justonceclasses.com for more information.

The cost is $30 for the course, and $29 for the workbook and practice DVD to be paid to the instructor in class.

Registration for these classes can be done in the  admissions office in Room 1J1. The office hours are from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday and Wednesday or 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
