STERLING – The new Advance Auto Parts store next to Northland Mall will open Friday.
The store, 2930 E. Lincolnway, will have 10 employees and be led by General Manager Dick Warren, the company said in a news release.
The 6,500-square-foot store will be part of an initiative to open 200 new Advance Auto Parts locations nationwide, the company said.
The site, between the Fifth Third Bank and East Lincolnway, previously was owned by the mall.
Advance Auto Parts will be the fifth national auto parts chain to move to the area, joining AutoZone, Carquest, NAPA Auto Parts and O’Reilly Auto Parts. Previously, the closest Advance Auto Parts location was in Clinton, Iowa, according to the company’s website.
Advance Auto Parts will service professional mechanics and customers who work on their own cars. It will offer some free services, such as replacing batteries and windshield wiper blades.
The store will also deliver parts to local dealers or mechanics and accept batteries and motor oil to be recycled.
The store will be open 7 days a week, from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., according to the release.
Advance Auto Parts is at 2930 East Lincolnway.
