Chicago rides fast start to rout of Bucks

Rose shines again for Bulls

Players sat with injuries. Derrick Rose dominated. And the Bulls won.

In a common refrain from this preseason, the Bulls improved to 6-0 in the preseason despite playing without Joakim Noah, Jimmy Butler and Kirk Hinrich. Behind Derrick Rose's 24 points and six players in double figures, they downed the Bucks 105-84 on Monday night at the United Center.

Rose has now scored 78 points in his last 80 minutes, 50 seconds.

“He’s back. That’s what I think,” Bucks coach Larry Drew said before the game. “He’s picking it up where he left off. He’s a phenomenal player."

Coach Tom Thibodeau criticized the way his starters began last game. But against the Bucks, despite starting Taj Gibson for Noah and Mike Dunleavy for Butler, the Bulls jumped to a 20-4 edge early.

Gibson and Bucks guard Brandon Knight later drew double technical fouls for getting entangled while fighting for a rebound and exchanging shoves.

Carlos Boozer finished with a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds.
