DIXON – A fundraiser to help a Dixon native fight stage 4 brain, bone, lymph, and lung cancer will be at noon Saturday at The Last Stop, 1914 Lowell Park Road.

Tammy Scheffler-Brooks moved to Tampa, Fla., several years ago with her husband, Dave Brooks. She has two children, Cody Blackburn, 21, and Devon Blackburn, 19, and a stepdaughter, Jessica Brooks, 21.

Amy Johnson, a friend of Scheffler-Brooks, said Tammy is an accounting specialist at Mancuso and Dias in Tampa.

In March, Scheffler-Brooks was diagnosed with cancer. She is receiving chemotherapy in Tampa. Proceeds from the benefit will help the Brooks family with medical and other expenses.

There will be no cost to get in. Food and drink specials will be available. A 50/50 drawing will take place, with tickets for $1 each or $5 for six. A bags tournament with two-person teams is planned, with a $20 advance registration fee, or $30 the day of the fundraiser. Silent and live auctions are planned, and four bands will perform. Scheduled performers are Pat Anderson, Burnin’ Bush, Mandy Lance and Keith Milligan.
