Trooper awarded

STERLING – Illinois State Police District 1 announced that Trooper Jacob W. Scroggins is the recipient of the Trooper of the Quarter Award.

Scroggins, of Whiteside County, is a 6-year veteran of the ISP who, in addition to his patrol duties, serves as a field training officer, crowd control team member, Taser and arrest tactics instructor.

ISP District 1 commander, Captain Jeff Bain, said, “Trooper Scroggins is strongly motivated to keeping Illinois safe. His determination and commitment to the citizens of Illinois exemplify the highest ideals of the Illinois State Police.”

With this honor, Scroggins received a framed certificate of recognition and his named was added to the Trooper of the Quarter display at District 1 headquarters.
