Lillian M. Thorngren

MILLEDGEVILLE – Lillian M. Thorngren, 95, of Milledgeville, died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Mount Carroll.

Lillian was born June 10, 1918, in Fair Haven Township, to Floyd and Mary (Jones) Miller. She married Robert S. Thorngren on Aug. 9, 1941, in Milledgeville. He preceded her in death on Jan. 31, 2010. Lillian was a homemaker. She also helped on the farm, and over the years worked several jobs. She dearly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and enjoyed spending time with them. She enjoyed cooking, especially baking pies and cookies. She also enjoyed doing crafts.

Survivors include one daughter, Judy (Les) Meyers of Bonita Springs, Fla.; one son, Dave (Rita) Thorngren of Milledgeville; one sister, Beth Holland of Thomson; one brother-in-law, Roger Thorngren of Mount Morris; five grandchildren, Sheri (Steve) Brezinka, Cris (Tim) Emerson, Scott (Sara) Thorngren, Kara (Lucas) Robinson, and Kalah (Tyke) Spencer; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; two sisters, Evelyn Howe and Betty Munz; one brother, Glen Miller; and one sister-in-law, Carol Thorngren.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday and the funeral at 11 a.m. Saturday at Milledgeville Brethren Church, with the Rev. Jim Black officiating. Burial will be at South Elkhorn Cemetery in Milledgeville. McDonald Funeral Home in Milledgeville is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Mount Carroll and Milledgeville Brethren Church.
