ROCK FALLS – John Wasson, 66, of Rock Falls, died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.

John was born Dec. 20, 1946, in Dixon, to Clark and Doris (Howard) Wasson. He married Jacqueline Warner in 1970, in Rock Falls. John worked for Union Pacific Railroad as a conductor for more than 35 years. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, boating, and attending his grandchildren’s activities. John was a member of Rock Falls United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Jackie, his mother, Doris, his daughter, Greta Wasson, and his son, Christopher (Amy) Wasson, all of Rock Falls; one brother, Steve (Corinne) Wasson of London; and three grandchildren, Grant and Ellie Wasson and Brody Adams.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clark Wasson.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Richard Fassig officiating.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Rock Falls United Methodist Church.
