Nola J. Rutledge

PROPHETSTOWN – Nola J. Rutledge, 82, of Prophetstown, formerly of Erie, died Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013, at Good Samaritan – Prophets Riverview Manor in Prophetstown.

Nola Jean was born July 3, 1931, in Aurora, the daughter of Clarence and Elizabeth (Sutherland) Quantock. She married Gene L. Rutledge on Aug. 12, 1951, in Aurora.  

Nola worked at Erie State Bank and later retired from Farmers National Bank in Prophetstown. She was a longtime member of Erie Christian Church and had been a member of the Erie Lioness Club.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Ken (Jan) Rutledge of Clinton, Ill., Doug (Marta) Rutledge of Erie, Julie Curtis of Windsor, Laurie (Tony) Good of St. Joseph; brother, Chuck (Yvonne) Quantock of Lacey’s Spring, Ala.; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.  

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gene in 2004, and a daughter, Katherine Ann.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Gibson-Bode Funeral Home, Erie. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Erie Christian Church. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery, Rock Falls. Memorials may be made to the church.
