MORRISON – Emily G. Jevne, 91, of Morrison, died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, at her home.
She was born April 1, 1922, in Chicago, the daughter of Charles O. and Albertina M. (DeMilliano) Bockhaut. She married James A. Jevne on June 6, 1944, in Chicago.
Emily, along with her late husband, Jim, and son, Don, owned and operated Morrison True Value Hardware from 1974 until retiring. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Morrison.
Survivors include one daughter, Carol (Tom) Acton of Roscoe; four sons, Jim (Joan) Jevne of Downers Grove, Steve (Cathy) Jevne of Wheaton, Don (Jackie) Jevne of Morrison, and Robert (Jill) Jevne of Jacobson, Minn.; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Alida Croker of Mission Viejo, Calif. and Eleanore Peleska of Mundelein; one brother, Charles (Helen) Bockhaut of Fort Myers, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James; two sisters, Maria Zimmerman and Angela Albrecht; and one brother, Oliver Brockhaut.
Visitation will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the funeral service at St. Mary Catholic Church, Morrison. The funeral service is at noon at the church with the Rev. William Antillon, pastor at St. Mary Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will be at Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison, with the Rev. Thomas Acton officiating.
Memorials have been established to The Salvation Army and St. Mary Catholic Church.
